After nine resignations, new elections in Vals near Le Puy

After the resignation of nine municipal councilors in July 2024, the association of Vals-près-le-Puy is preparing for a general by-election to elect 23 municipal councilors and 2 community councillors. These elections will be held on Sunday October 13 and 20, 2024, if a second round is necessary.

Voters of Vals-près-le-Puy are invited to vote in this election which will be held according to a two-round proportional list ballot.

Submission of applications

Submissions are required for each voting round. The main applicant must take all necessary steps to register the list, although he or she may delegate this task to an authorized person.

In this case, a formal command must be attached to the declaration list. Applicants can refer to applicant information for municipalities with more than 1000 inhabitants available on the website of the Ministry of the Interior:

Applications will be available at the Prefecture office, management and selection, on the following dates:

First round:

• From Monday September 23 to Wednesday September 25, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Thursday September 26, 2024, from 9:00 am to 11:30 am and from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

Second round (if necessary):

• Monday October 14, 2024, from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm.
• Tuesday October 15, 2024, from 9:00 am to 11:30 am and from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

Applications will be submitted by appointment only, to be done by calling the numbers 04 71 09 92 68 or 04 71 09 90 93. No other means of distribution, such as mail or electronic means, will be accepted.

Election campaign

The election campaign for the first round will start on Monday 30 September 2024 at midnight and will end on Saturday 12 October 2024 at midnight. If a second round is required, the campaign will open on Monday 14 October 2024 at midnight and close on Saturday 19 October 2024 at midnight.
