Mima is about a market that everyone owns and manages together. Once you are part of the cooperative, you decide with the other members how the market and the events are designed. There is no gain here, but also no loss.

First event on March 21st

In Klagenfurt, the members of the join-in market are still looking for a suitable location for their supermarket and the events. “We want to close the gaps between manufacturers and consumers and ensure transparency,” explains one of the initiators Oliver Hoenigsberger. “For a contribution of 200 euros you are part of the cooperative and can shop at our supermarket and visit all kinds of events,” he says. The first big one will also take place on March 21st Event to get to know the project.

Cooperation is required

The market belongs to all members of the cooperative. Currently 19 members have paid their share, 90 people are in the group. All shareholders also have to work three to five hours a month, but everyone can choose the work that suits them. “Your contribution of three hours a month is directly reflected in the prices you pay for the products. Similar to the supermarket, these are under fair conditions for our farmers/producers and with consistently healthy and sustainably processed food,” says the market operator. There is generally no profit or loss, all owners decide how the proceeds are reinvested.
