K alias Karyo (39), could bear to kill Athiqotul Masha alias Mother Maya. After killing the woman who was also a Koran teacher, Karyo returned to his home in Ciriung, Cibinong, Bogor.
To the residents, Karyo expressed his sadness over the death of Mother Maya. Not only that, he also admitted that the residents had debts to the victims and had not been paid.
“So actually this perpetrator had returned to his house, it was Wednesday (4/11/2020), the day after the victim was found,” said Head of RT 05 Kelurahan Ciriung, Rican to detikcom, Friday (6/11/2020).
Rican admitted that he had talked with the perpetrators that day. To Rican, Karyo expressed his sadness over the death of Mother Maya.
“I had a chance to chat, I went to his house. He looks normal, calm, he admits that he has a debt of Rp. 1 million to the deceased (Mother Maya), but cannot pay it,” said Rican.
“He also admits that he is sad because the deceased died but has not had time to pay off his debt,” he added.
According to Rican, Karyo came home after his wife contacted him by phone. “He came home after his wife called, called him using a neighbor’s phone. I was told that if the deceased died, he would come home that Wednesday early in the morning,” said Rican.
The local people, said Rican, actually had suspicions about Karyo. Because Karyo disappeared along with the disappearance of Mother Maya on Sunday (1/11/2020).
That night, continued Rican, Karyo called his wife, who was attending the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday at the mosque and said goodbye to go out of town for work.
“So on Monday night he (Karyo) didn’t go to the mosque. He called his wife around 10 pm, said goodbye to Java, wanted to queue people, he worked as a driver,” said Rican.
“The residents are already suspicious there. He left when the deceased disappeared. The deceased began to disappear that night,” he added.
The police later discovered Karyo’s return. Karyo was secured while shopping at a shop in the Ciriung area, Cibinong District, Bogor Regency on Wednesday (4/11/2020). Karyo was later named a suspect in the case of Bunda Maya’s death after undergoing an examination at the Cibinong Police.
To the police, Karyo admitted that he was desperate to kill Mother Maya because she was hurt that she was asked for a debt and the secret of her debt was known to her wife.
Karyo is currently still in police custody. Karyo, who was said to have intended to kill Mother Maya for a long time, was charged with multiple articles.
“We have arrested the perpetrator, the perpetrator we put on articles 338, 340, 365, article 351, paragraph 2, the threat of imprisonment for life,” said the Head of Cibinong Police, AKP I Kadek Vemil.
