The road in front of his company, exclusively intended for local traffic, is frequently used by drivers who have no business there, much to Nauta ‘s frustration.
When one of his cats was killed on the Polderweg for the second time, Nauta put his dead cat in a bucket on the road as a statement with a sarcastic ‘Thank you for driving my Katy to death’ next to it.
Roadblocks destroyed
With this cry for attention, Nauta gained national fame, but the action turned out not to be enough: motorists continued to use the road. That is why Nauta placed four roadblocks along Hilhorstweg in Soest last Saturday. An unknown vandal disagreed: on Sunday he found one of his blockades destroyed in a dry ditch. A second roadblock floated in the Eem.

“Something really has to be done, I don’t care what”
This morning the farmer continued his protest by placing the destroyed blockades back in pieces along the outer road. Whether his protest will be successful this time is still the question. Nauta hopes that the roadblock will shake people up despite the destruction: “Something really has to be done, I don’t care what, but this can’t be done anymore.”
