INDOSPORT.COM – AC Milan surprisingly reportedly intends to release one of his best midfielders, Franck Kessie, in the transfer market this summer.
The contract negotiation process was slow and seemed to be moving nowhere, making AC Milan take the decision to release Kessie before he could leave for free.
AC Milan’s decision to release Kessie departed from their unwillingness to repeat the tragedy of Gianluigi Donnarumma and Hakan Calhanoglu.
The reason is, the situation experienced by Kessie right now is practically similar to what happened in the past Donnarumma and Calhanoglu.
Donnarumma is known to have joined Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), while Calhanoglu crossed to Inter Milan, the eternal rival of Inter Milan.
Not wanting to fall in the same hole and seeing one of their best players go back for free, AC Milan then decided to release Kessie in the transfer market this summer.
Kessie’s contract will expire at the end of the 2021/22 season. AC Milan struggled to extend the Ivory Coast midfielder’s contract because the player demanded a salary increase in his new contract.
Something difficult to be granted by AC Milan. Because Elliot Management as the owner of AC Milan has instructed the club not to give exorbitant salaries to the players.
The only option for AC Milan at the moment is to let go Kessie. Unless they can persuade the 24-year-old to lower his demand for a raise.
