JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto try out “Maung”, a tactical vehicle ( sinking) 4×4 produced by PT Pindad, Sunday (7/12/2020).
According to Prabowo, his trial was a form of support for domestic defense products.
“In the afternoon today, I and the team from PT Pindad tried a 4X4 vehicle that we named Maung,” Prabowo wrote on his personal Instagram account as seen by Kompas.com, Monday (07/13/2020).

In addition to Instagram, Prabowo also uploaded the moment to try out the car on his personal Twitter account.
At least, there were three photos uploaded by Prabowo when he tried the green-dominated vehicle.
He was seen wearing a light brown safari suit with a black hat that read “Prabowo” while driving the vehicle himself.
“The Ministry of Defense will continue to support efforts to increase domestic defense equipment production, as well as support research and development programs, so that later all domestic production can be fully independent,” Prabowo wrote.
Previously, President Joko Widodo had asked Prabowo to buy the main weaponry system (defense equipment) made by domestic state-owned companies.

As a ministry with the largest budget compared to other ministries, which is Rp 117.9 trillion, budget spending by the Ministry of Defense is expected to help drive the economy amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
“In Kemenhan, it could be in DI, buy in Pindad, buy in PAL. Those who pay here are those cash, cash, cash. APBN (State Budget), buy domestic products. I think Mr. Defense also knows more about this, “said Jokowi when chairing a limited meeting at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Tuesday (7/7/2020).
“I think shopping that used to go out shopping, was put on the brakes first. Buy, shop, get our products. So what? Economic hit trigger, can spur growth us, our (economic) growth, “added the President.
