According to Jon Prosser, Apple is working on a new MacBook Air which in turn would benefit from a colorful chassis. A rumor that seems to correspond to the last desires of the Apple brand after the announcement of new iMac in color and a more fun iPad Air.

After iPhones, iPads and the new iMacs, MacBook Airs. Apple seems to want to add color to our lives and according to Jon Prosser, this frenzy could now take over the brand’s laptops.
Last month, Apple unveiled a new iMac with a new design, equipped with an M1 chip, but above all available in seven colors. A first for the all-in-one computer that hadn’t been at such a party since iMac G3 and its tangy backs. At the same time, the Cupertino company presented a mauve iPhone 12 which joined the red, blue, green versions which had been added to black and white in the fall.

At the end of 2020, the iPad Air reappeared with a look similar to that of the iPad Pro, but with a visual difference: blue and green metallic finishes to complement the usual space gray, silver and rose gold colors. At Apple, we obviously want to give a little pep to its products and this could therefore concern the next MacBook Air.
General public ranges in color, the more sober Pro
To believe the leaker Jon Prosser on his show Front Page Tech, the next entry-level laptop should, in turn, boast a colorful outfit. Apple unveiled last fall a new model of MacBook Air that looked exactly like its predecessor and had the only difference – but size – to embark the new M1 chip designed by Apple.
We know that Tim Cook and his family are working on a new design for the device which could arrive at the end of the year or the beginning of 2022. It is even rumored that it could be equipped with a mini LED screen similar to that of the next iPad Pro, according to Ming-Chi Kuo. The addition of color would not be incongruous for a PC intended to appeal to the greatest number. It remains to be seen whether Apple will wait for the arrival of the M2 chip for this.

If Jon Prosser has accustomed us to rumors of more or less uncertain value, sometimes even totally eccentric and off the mark, this prediction seems rather credible. He was the first to evoke a colorful iMac, even if he had gone a little too far on the very different colors in the end. With a fairly obvious separation at Apple between the more eccentric and colorful classic ranges (iPhone, iPad / iPad Air) and the sober Pro with traditional colors (space gray, silver, gold + the color of the year in metallic matt for the ‘iPhone Pro), it doesn’t seem strange that the MacBook Air will be the next to go color. Unless Apple decides to relaunch its MacBook to expand its range with a “new” product …
