What is Xavier Niel after? The boss of Free, manufacturer of startuppers and self-taught, is one of the most powerful men in France. After a single performance at the Olympia, he released a book called “A sacred desire to fuck up”.
His latest coup: doing his show at the Olympia with a deliberately provocative title (How to become a billionaire), with a lot of second degree. 40 years ago, Xavier Niel created a very profitable pink minitel service and became a millionaire at just 24 years old. In 2002, it was the first in the world to offer a single box for Internet, telephone and television. And in 2013, he launched and financed the 42 school in Paris, a free training course to learn programming. Since then, more than 44,000 people in 31 countries have been trained.
Shareholder of several media including Le Monde, Xavier Niel also invests in Deezer, Airbnb, Uber, Snapchat and Devialet. Dark side: a sentence to one year of preventive detention in 2004 for concealment of misuse of company assets. He was ultimately given a suspended prison sentence. From this ordeal, he takes the title of his book: A real desire to make a mess.
