After her cyberbullying scandal: Chrissy Teigen is 100 days sober | Celebrities

Chrissy Teigen values self-reflection more after her cyberbullying scandal. On Tuesday morning, ‘The Today Show’, she shared that she has become a stronger person after taking the time to deal with her past behavior. Earlier this year, Teigen was criticized for her social media posts several years ago. The model and mother of two admits the messages were “horrible” as she apologized for the controversy.

“Not a day, not a single moment, has gone by where I haven’t felt the crushing weight of regret for the things I’ve said in the past,” she wrote in an open letter. “There’s just no excuse for my awful tweets from back in the day. The people I attacked didn’t deserve it. Nobody deserves that. Many of them needed empathy, kindness, understanding and support, not my meanness which I camouflaged as some kind of sharp wit. I was a troll, period. And I am so sorry.”

In ‘The Today Show’ she elaborates on the road she has traveled in the meantime: “For me it was a big moment of ‘wow, I have to figure out how I can get better, how I can grow from this, learn from this’ . There’s that old cliché of “I’m glad it happened,” but it really made me a stronger person. And a better person. Then I decided to give up alcohol and today I’m 100 days sober and I’m so excited, yes. I feel so good. I feel clear in my head.”
