JawaPos.com – After the mysterious hepatitis disease, now social media is busy discussing the emergence of the Singapore flu. Parents are worried that this disease will spread and infect their children.
Pediatrician DR. Dr. Ariani Dewi Widodo, Sp.A(K) explained that Singapore flu in medical terms is the same as Hand Foot and Mouth Diseases (HFMD). According to him, this disease is related to cleanliness and environmental health. “It prevents him from washing his hands and avoiding contact with sick people,” said dr. Ariani to JawaPos.comWednesday (18/5).
According to him this disease is a seasonal disease. One thing that is a little worrying, he said, the infected children often do not want to eat.
On the website of the Ministry of Health, the Singapore flu is known as Hand Foot and Mouth Diseases (HFMD) or in Indonesian known as Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease (TKM), which has existed since 1957 and first appeared in Toronto, Canada.
