The Spanish newspaper “Sport” confirmed that the young star has terminated his contract with Cruzeiro, and is currently in Barcelona to undergo a trial period with the club’s youth team.
She indicated that Joan Laporta, President of Barcelona, is pursuing the possibility of contracting with the 17-year-old himself, and he is also talking with Ronaldinho to discuss the matter, as the latter is one of the ambassadors of the Catalan club.
Joao plays in the position of an outspoken striker and before signing with Cruzeiro when he was 14 years old, he completely concealed his identity so as not to get any advantages in order to make his own way without relying on his father.
It is not yet confirmed that the club has officially signed Ronaldinho’s son, but indications are that it will be difficult to overcome his father’s charm and position at Camp Nou.
