– The British-German presenter, producer, actress, radio play speaker and author regularly made headlines for years. She has been quiet since 2020 – now Charlotte Roche is back.
Roche has always been a rebel: in 1993 she founded the garage rock band The Dubinskis with three friends. She inflicted wounds on herself to paint pictures with her blood, tried drugs and shaved her head bald.
She achieved her breakthrough in the spring of 1998 when she got the job as presenter of the music show “Fast Forward” during a casting for Viva Zwei. Her scandalous book “Wetlands” made headlines in 2008, and the debut novel was subsequently made into a film. Before her long break from the public, Charlotte Roche most recently gave relationship tips in her podcast “Paardiology”, which won the German Podcast Prize.
The last post on Instagram to date from April 2020 shows Roche and her husband Martin, including an excerpt from the lyrics from the Bugs Bunny end credits “The audience was wonderful again today, and the final chord sounds sad in a minor key. We say thank you ( …) the show must go on, goodbye.” Then nothing happened for four years.
“So, how are you today?”
The now 46-year-old didn’t share more than this question and a selfie while lying down on her Instagram channel on October 12th. She now wears her hair blonde with pastel-colored streaks and her face and cleavage are adorned with numerous tattoos.
It is not known whether the post also represents a comeback to the public. Your approximately 161,000 subscribers seem to be happy. There are hundreds of very friendly comments under the picture: “It’s so good to see you again” or “What a beautiful day, my heart is soaring” can be read underneath.
