Nyíregyháza scored two goals in the first half to defeat MTK in the opening match of the 13th round of the OTP Bank League.
The home team was winless in the previous four rounds – with two defeats and two draws – while the Budapest team’s unbeaten streak was broken after four wins and one draw.

Both teams actively threw themselves into the match, the game was fast-paced, with MTK in the lead. The visiting team dominated most of the first half hour, but then the home team took the lead.
The first time the Nyíregyháza team managed to stay in the MTK 16 for several minutes, they threatened their opponent’s goal several times, and finally Dominik Nagy, who stayed clear, scored under the crossbar from ten meters to finish off a precise pass. The home team soon increased its advantage from a penalty, referee Ádám Pillók awarded a penalty for handling Antonov. Nyíregyháza, passive in the first thirty minutes, improved a lot in the last quarter of an hour and gained a confident advantage.
MTK started the second half with serious attacks, created two great situations, but after that, although they attacked with great strength, they could not create any further substantial danger. After the initial difficulties, the home team sorted out their ranks, which in the continuation kept the result tactically, thus gaining three points.
