Jesé Rodriguez broke through at Real Madrid, as one of the pearls of the Madrid youth academy. He was also known as a top talent among the Spanish national youth teams. In the 2013-2014 season, he was a regular substitute for Carlo Ancelotti’s team for the first time.
A ruptured cruciate ligament briefly slowed his career, but Jesé was hyper-ambitious and wanted more than the status of a substitute in Madrid. In the summer of 2016, PSG deposited 25 million euros to ensure its fast and technically gifted footwork.
Only Jesé could not live up to expectations. A first loan to Las Palmas followed after only six months. Three more would follow in four seasons. He has played for Stoke City, Betis and Sporting.
This season he was allowed to briefly fill in for PSG twice, but he was not in the selection of Thomas Tuchel for the majority of the games. Both parties then decided to terminate his contract early until the summer of 2021.
