VIVA – Four days after Hari Raya Eid al-Adha or to be precise, next July 24, Asteroid The 2008 GO20 will pass and approach Earth. The space rock trajectory was detected by NASA’s Center for Near Earth Object Studies (CNEOS).
They have confirmed that Asteroid 2008 GO20 will be close enough to smack the Earth. The flying object is classified as the closest approach, but the good news is that the giant asteroid poses no threat to Earth.
Past asteroid collisions were responsible for one of Earth’s seven mass extinctions, so astronomers keep an eye on the sky at all times. Express, Sunday, July 18, 2021.
