After Easter break, full program for Football Academy again

Jip Ellenbroek’s team already played against PSV O16 last Wednesday evening. In contrast to the first match (0-0), the full spoils were now taken from Eindhoven: 1-2. The goals of Preston Okoro and Bas Top were enough for the three points and a current third place in Division 1A. Tomorrow the Under-16s will play against bottom-of-the-table FC Twente / Heracles O16. The Tukkers lost all eight games and will undoubtedly be annoyed to get the first points. Under-16, on the other hand, can consolidate third place with a win and possibly even climb to place one or two. The kick-off is at 3:00 PM at the FC Twente Training Center in Hengelo.

Under-15 also plays against the red lantern bearer at the highest youth level. It will host Sparta Rotterdam O15 on its own field, which it won 1-2 earlier this season. From that moment on, Peter Vogel’s team has impressed in Division 1A with 12 points from the last four matches. As a result, it rose from last place to second place in a short time. Tomorrow’s opponent lost the last match with no less than 0-8 to FC Utrecht O15. In numerical terms, the momentum lies with the people of Deventer. The match starts at 11:30 am at the Zuiderlaan sports park in Twello.

On the adjacent field, Under-13 starts at the same time against FC Groningen O13. The leading position in Division 2D has now disappeared somewhat after the recent 1-4 defeat in the IJsselderby, but a week later Bram Meuwissen’s pupils recovered against Achilles Enschede O13 with a rain of goals (0-9). In Groningen the teams were evenly matched, but the Under-13 narrowly triumphed (1-2). Numbers 1 and 2 in the rankings – PEC Zwolle O13 and De Graafschap O13 respectively – play against each other and so good business can be done tomorrow in Twello by Go Ahead Eagles O13.

Under-21 will also report tomorrow in Twello. Martijn Jongbloed’s team will compete against SC Cambuur O21 at 1:30 PM. The Frisians won the first match with strong figures (4-0) and from that moment on they set up an impressive series. All matches that followed were won and not even a single goal was conceded. It is up to the Under-21s to end that streak. In any case, Under-21 can make good use of the points, because they are currently second from the bottom in a relegation place.

Second from the top, the Under-18s have been in Division 3A for some time now. The tension in that competition is intense, as the gap with number seven FC Dordrecht O18 is only four points. Tomorrow, Jeroen Spies’ team will travel to Volendam to take on FC Volendam O18. The Under-18s had little trouble with the ‘Dijkresidents’ in the first game: 4-0. Yet it will face an opponent in form, because the Volendam team won the last two games 4-0 and 3-0. The ball will roll for the first time in the Kras Stadium at 12:30 PM.

The earliest birds this time are Patrick Kieftenbelt’s men, who will appear at the kick-off at 10:15 am at Goed Genoeg sports park in Amsterdam-Zuid. Number six AFC O14 will be the opponent there. Under-14s won six of eight matches to sit top of Division 2A. Competitor FC Utrecht O14 has the same number of losing points and will compete against number three SC Heerenveen O14 tomorrow.

Of course, everyone is very welcome to visit the matches of the Go Ahead Eagles Football Academy. All activities of the red-yellow youth teams can also be followed tomorrow via the website X account (formerly Twitter) of the Go Ahead Eagles Football Academy.
