It was on Easter Monday in 1984 that a French car crashed into a bridge pillar on the E19 motorway near Schoten. The French driver and his friend survived. The two American friends Maura and Kathleen who had been given a ride died on the spot. Almost forty years later, on Easter Monday, John Faherty (58) steps – after years of searching – to the bridge pillar on the Hertendreef where his sister died. He puts on her favorite song ‘Ripple’, puts down a commemorative plaque and weeps softly for Maura.
