After the incidents in the DFB Cup game against VfL Wolfsburg (0:1), regional football club FC Carl Zeiss Jena initially identified four suspects and banned them from the house, the Thuringians announced on their website.
This was preceded by the viewing of extensive film and photo recordings. The club is also filing criminal charges against the individuals and handing over the cases to the club’s stadium ban commission.
After the match on August 30, Wolfsburg football professionals were attacked and physically harassed by home fans on the way to their team bus.
Possible structural changes were also discussed as part of the evaluation of the game, which, according to the club, had previously been classified by all security officers as well as the club and stadium operators as a game without risk. In the future, these should help to optimize the separation of the away fans, who were accommodated in the west stand during the stadium renovation, from the home spectator areas.
The state police spoke of an ongoing investigation. Witnesses are being heard and video footage is being viewed. There are no new findings so far.
