After criticism, Toverland stops with Halloween Nights | 1Limburg

Theme park Toverland in Sevenum stops from Wednesday with the Halloween Nights.

The amusement park will let you know on Tuesday evening.

Incomprehension
‘Although the Halloween Nights are a theme experience within the regular park operation, there is a lot of misunderstanding in the media about the continuation of these Halloween activities. We think this is a great pity ‘, Toverland writes in a response.

Criticism
Monday, Toverland was among other things in it news by virologist Bert Niesters who criticized the Halloween Nights. The amusement park played with fire by being the only amusement park in the Netherlands to continue with the creepy evenings.

Despite the extra measures taken by the amusement park, Niesters felt that Covid-19 and Halloween do not go together.

Measures
According to Toverland, the activities around Halloween Nights were spacious, excessive capacity was used and only 33% of the maximum park capacity was used. In addition, the group size was controlled and extra attraction value was placed outdoors.

Pathetic
‘We are extremely proud of the Halloween Nights and are very sorry that we have to cancel this themed experience, both for our visitors and all employees and scare actors who have worked extremely hard to make the Halloween Nights a success’, says the amusement park.

Park remains open
From Wednesday October 21 to Saturday October 24, the next dates on which Halloween Nights would take place, the theme park will remain open until 8:00 PM. During the day there will be Happy Halloween activities for visitors up to 12 years old.

Visitors who have a ticket for the Halloween nights can visit the theme park on the original visit date or the ticket can be kept until the summer season of 2021.
