Thomas Tuchel risks new adversities after leaving Chelsea: the former Blues coach risks expulsion from England! The reason is the new laws on foreigners after Brexit.
The end came quickly and brutally: Thomas Tuchel had to leave Chelsea after 0-1 against Dynamo Zagreb. The manager, who won the Champions League with Londoners in 2021, has been replaced by Graham Potter from the new owners.
This was preceded by mixed results, which, however, may also have been the result of this summer’s great upheaval. Thus Tuchel had lost all of his central defense, including German national team player Antonio Rüdiger, against Real Madrid.
Thomas Tuchel has to leave England after 90 days
Now Tuchel is threatened with further trouble: as the Telegraph reports, he is threatened with expulsion from England! The reason is the new labor law after Brexit. Under this, EU foreigners can stay in the UK for up to 90 days after their release.
After that, their visa expires and they have to leave the country. This applies to both Tuchel and his longtime assistant Arno Michels.
Not an easy situation for Tuchel. The former Borussia Dortmund and FSV Mainz 05 manager is still considering his options, but he is said to feel comfortable in London. He was seen smiling again in the British capital on Wednesday 21 September. He took pictures with the fans and was relaxed.
