After chaos, this airline must fly 1,000 bags from London to the US

Jakarta

Airlines Delta Air Lines had to send 1,000 bags of stranded passengers at Heathrow Airport, London. The bag flew back to its owner in the United States.

Reported from Travel+Leisure, Delta Air Lines had previously been forced to cancel scheduled passenger flights due to capacity restrictions imposed by Heathrow Airport. This resulted in 1,000 check-in bags from the flight having to be abandoned.

Fortunately, the airline has an Airbus A330-200 with which to return to the US.

“The Delta team worked on a creative solution to move delayed check-in baggage from London-Heathrow on July 11 after a regularly scheduled flight had to be canceled due to airport passenger volume restrictions at Heathrow,” a Delta spokesperson said.

“Delta flight 9888 from Heathrow to Delta’s hub in Detroit flew 1,000 bags back to the US, where the team then forwarded the bags to our customers,” he added.

Meanwhile, passengers whose flights were canceled can already be rebooked on other flights. On the other hand, these delayed-departure bags get VIP treatment and are placed in the trunk.

Earlier this week, Heathrow . Airport did ask airlines to reduce their ticket sales in the summer. They limit the capacity to no more than 100,000 passengers per day.

Chaos had occurred in airport This is because of the surge in passengers while they lack staff. The airport has dealt with queuing and baggage issues in recent weeks.

Apart from London, similar chaos occurred in other countries. For this reason, it is recommended that passengers bring a carry-on bag that can be carried into the cabin so that the luggage bag is not left behind or lost.
