After busy morning rush, also busy evening rush

Na de busiest morning rush hour of this year, many motorists were also stuck in traffic on the way back tonight. At the busiest time, around 5.30 pm, there was a 548 kilometer traffic jam. That is only 6 kilometers less than this morning, but it is not an evening rush year record, the ANWB reports. That record was achieved last Friday, when there were 677 kilometers of traffic jams.

The rain also affected traffic tonight. There were especially long traffic jams on the A15 from Nijmegen to Utrecht, on the A2 and A27 from Utrecht to the south, on the A4 from Amsterdam to The Hague and on the A28 near Wezep, where an accident caused delays.

Morning rush tomorrow morning

The ANWB expects that the record will not be broken again tomorrow morning. Motorists will no longer be bothered by the closure of the A12 between the Oudenrijn junction near Utrecht and Nieuwerbrug tomorrow. The work there is almost finished and the road will be open again from 5 a.m. tomorrow morning after being closed for nine days.

In addition, according to the weather forecast, it will remain dry.
