Paludan burned the Muslim holy book outside the Turkish Embassy in Stockholm on Saturday, sparking protests in Istanbul and Ankara that evening.
Participants in Sunday’s event carried green flags featuring a proclamation of the Islamic faith and a banner reading “We condemn Sweden’s state-backed Islamophobia.” A sign on the window of the Swedish Consulate read: “We disagree with the idiots who burned the book.”
Rasmus Paludan, who has dual Danish and Swedish citizenship, is not the first time he has targeted the Muslim holy book.
