The departure of Dennis Lindsey, from his position as vice president to become a consultant for the franchise, should lead to changes in the “front office” of Jazz, on the part of Ryan Smith, the new owner.
According to The Athletic, which announces movement for the days and weeks to come, Danny Ainge would be a candidate for a position in Utah, just a few weeks after leaving Boston.
The former president of the Celtics, weakened by health problems (heart disease) and two seasons under Covid-19 difficult to manage, had recently given way to Brad Stevens. According to our colleagues, Ainge (62) could become a consultant, too, and not a full-time manager, for the Salt Lake City franchise.
After Lindsey’s retirement, Jazz’s new strongman is Justin Zanik, and he wears the double hats of GM / vice-president. Which leaves little room for Ainge.
