After Black Fungus, India Finds Aspergillosis Fungal Infection in Recently Recovered Covid-19 Patients Pasien

NEW DELHI, KOMPAS.TV – After the emergence of a black, white and yellow fungal infection called Mucormycosis, India experienced a new case of fungal infection, Aspergillosis.

Quoted from Indiatoday.in on Thursday (27/5/2021), doctors in the city of Vadodara have reported 8 cases of Aspergillosis fungal infection.

Just like black fungus, Aspergillosis infection is also found in people who have just recovered from the Covid-19 virus.

On Thursday, Vadodara reported 262 new cases of black fungus and 8 new cases of Aspergillosis. Currently, 8 patients have also been treated in hospitals in the city.

“Pulmonary aspergillosis is most commonly seen in immunocompromised patients. However, pulmonary aspergillosis is rare. We see this infection in people who have recently recovered from Covid-19 or are on medication. Aspergillosis is not as deadly as black fungus, but can be fatal. can be fatal,” said dr. Sheetal Mistry, who is the Covid-19 management advisor for the city and county of Vadodara, India.

Pulmonary Aspergillosis infection is currently being observed in immunocompromised persons.
