Suara.com – Zhengzhou City, Henan Province, China, began to be hit by an epidemic COVID-19 varian Delta in the midst of efforts to recover from the flood that killed dozens of people.
As of Saturday (31/7/2021) evening local time, there were 11 positive cases and 16 asymptomatic cases. The first asymptomatic case in the central region of China was found on Friday (30/7/2021).
Zhengzhou is another city experiencing a rapid increase in Delta cases after Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province, according to Chinese media.
The head of the Zhengzhou City Center for Infectious Diseases Prevention and Control, Wang Songqiang, said most of the positive cases were found at the No. 6 Hospital in the city, including janitors, medical staff and inpatients.

The hospital became a referral hospital for people without symptoms who had just arrived from abroad.
According to Wang, compared to other cities such as Nanjing, Zhangjiajie (Hunan Province), and Chengdu (Sichuan Province), the deployment of the Delta variant in Zhengzhou is faster and may take a long time to recover.
Zhengzhou is making various efforts to recover from the floods that killed 51 people as of July 23. In all areas of Henan Province, the death toll from the floods reached 99 people.
Currently in Zhengzhou there is one high-risk area of COVID-19 and three medium-risk areas.
The Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party (CPC) Henan Provincial Committee, Lou Yangsheng, instructed the tightening of security measures to prevent the outbreak from spreading.

International flights to Henan must be strictly vetted and supply chains and international mail must go through strict export-import tests.
