The Covid-19 vaccination is carried out by various levels of society, ranging from children aged 12 years and over, students, workers, the elderly, to pregnant women.

Not only that, Covid-19 survivor or people who have been exposed to the corona virus must also get Covid-19 vaccine.

Reported from Kompas.com, World Health Organization (WHO) chief scientist Soumya Swaminathan said, there are two important things that a Covid-19 survivor must pay attention to before vaccinating Covid-19, namely time and antibodies.

Soumya explained, after recovering from Covid-19, the Covid-19 survivor need to wait a few weeks before committing Covid-19 vaccination. This is like the WHO standard, which is to wait a few weeks after recovering.

“This is because you have antibody nature that will keep you protected for at least that (period),” said Soumya, in an interview, as published on the WHO’s official YouTube account, Friday (20/8/2021).

However, he continued, there are differences in rules between countries.

There are several countries that recommend Covid-19 survivor get vaccinated after waiting for three or four months after being declared recovered from Covid-19.

This happens because in some countries there is a shortage of supply Covid-19 vaccine, so that Covid-19 survivor asked to wait for three or six months until stock Covid-19 vaccine available.

As for the subject antibody, he explained, there are differences in conditions antibody between someone who hasn’t done Covid-19 vaccination and already Covid-19 vaccination complete dose.
