While journalist Mustafa Bakri appealed to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to decide to transfer Fawzy to a military hospital to continue his treatment, underlining on his Twitter page that he is a great journalist who has spent his life serving the his country and the profession of journalism and the media.
Interestingly, Fawzi had gone through a severe psychological crisis in the recent period after the deaths of two of his closest friends, the artist Samir Sabri, And the journalist writer Salah Montaser.

Mufid Fawzy is a well-known media figure in Egypt and the Arab world, and was born on June 19, 1933 in Beni Suef Governorate in southern Egypt.
He graduated from the Faculty of Arts, Cairo University, English Department in 1959, and from that date worked in journalism, later moving into television work.
Later, he married the late television journalist Amal Al-Omda and gave birth to his daughter, journalist and writer Hanan Mofid Fawzy.
During his career, he has interviewed many celebrities in the fields of politics, art and literature, and the first television interview he conducted in front of the screen was with the late writer Naguib Mahfouz.
He also participated in two cinematic films under his name and real personality as a reporter and interviewer, namely ‘Hadith Al-Madina’ produced by Magda Al-Sabahi and ‘His Excellency the Minister’ with artist Ahmed Zaki.
