The “change” will not return the first mandate to form a government, which according to the Constitution falls to it. For more than an hour and a half, deputies and ministers from the quota of “We continue the change” in Kiril Petkov’s cabinet discussed today the results of the no-confidence vote that toppled the cabinet. After the talks in parliament, most of the representatives were succinct and did not want to share details.
“We are guided by the principles and motivation for Bulgaria to be taken behind the scenes and from things like the one we have just seen – some people who are not in parliament to control their deputies. This will happen by beating them in elections or by having 121 independent deputies.” , Petkov was laconic after the meeting.
Acting Parliament Speaker Miroslav Ivanov said the party would take office because the other would be an escape from responsibility. Support will again be sought from moral MPs who want to vote in good conscience. If there are elections, our ambition is to win them with a better result, said Ivanov.
So far, no nominations for head of parliament have been discussed – the PP does not have a majority, and the newly formed coalition has not nominated a person either. However, this issue is the first item on the agenda of the National Assembly tomorrow. Ivanov believes that the French proposal for Northern Macedonia should not enter the plenary hall, as there are many issues that have not yet been clarified. That is why we must first go through a debate in the parliamentary Committee on Foreign Policy, and the Bulgarian society and MPs must understand the details of the contractual framework with the PCM. We need answers about what has been done, whether the proposal is good or not. Only then should the deputies start voting.
