Several people have been detained on suspicion of spying for Russia, BNT and BTV reported, citing unnamed sources.
According to BNT sources, SANS agents conducted a secret operation. Several addresses in the southern districts of Sofia and in the districts in the direction of Pernik were searched, the television informs.
According to Nova TV sources, the action was carried out by several services and was directed against the disclosure of secret state information by Bulgarian civil servants. One of the suspects tried to escape.
Earlier, the Bulgarian National Radio announced that an operation of several services was taking place in different places in Sofia. There is an increased police presence at the exits of the capital, and the police are checking the cars leaving Sofia en masse. The Ministry of Interior only confirmed to the radio about the operation, but without details.
