A woman spreads unsubstantiated rumors about a daycare center in Freiburg via TikTok. This has received a huge response online – including death threats. Now the video portal is taking action.
The abuse allegations that a woman spread against a Freiburg daycare center on social media have now had consequences. TikTok has deleted the woman’s account. Videos in which an unknown woman made serious allegations against a Freiburg daycare center were no longer available on TikTok on Wednesday. The influencer’s corresponding account was deleted. The Badische Zeitung had previously reported on this.
The video portal is apparently drawing conclusions from the spread of unsubstantiated allegations of alleged child abuse. Both the city of Freiburg and the Freiburg University Hospital described the accusations as completely baseless. The videos were shared thousands of times on social media and led to death threats against daycare workers.
Police and public prosecutor investigate
The woman is still active on the Instagram platform, however, and continues to share videos in which she talks about alleged organized child abuse in Freiburg. The videos have reached up to 140,000 people on Instagram – numerous users comment on the posts and spread claims and conspiracy theories there. After the city of Freiburg filed a complaint for defamation and slander, the police are now investigating the woman. According to a police spokesman, the investigation is still in its early stages. Various legal violations are being examined in cooperation with the public prosecutor’s office, it was said.
