The management of the Ismailia International Film Festival for Documentaries and Shorts in Egypt was forced to withdraw the official advertising poster for the next session, a few hours after its release, due to the discovery of its violation of intellectual property rights, as it belongs to a person. The festival organizers were criticized because they did not indicate or mention that the design was quoted, which forced them to withdraw the poster hours after it was published on the official page of the Ismailia International Documentary and Short Film Festival on Facebook.

The president of the festival, in its next session, Issam Zakaria, also made an official apology, saying that the poster was not used or printed, pointing out that he had taken a decision to cancel it and replace it with a new one, which will be designed later.

Zakaria added, in media statements, yesterday, Saturday, that the festival management will review the previous works of the designer who presented the poster, the subject of controversy, and continued: “Praise be to God, we discovered the mistake early (early) and we apologize to the people.”

The festival’s president also confirmed that what happened was not intended and that the artist who designed the poster had good previous works.
