After a Tesla crash in Paris, a taxi fleet removes 37 Model 3 from a voyage

Following a serious Tesla electric car accident in the French capital, which killed 20 people and injured 20, the city’s largest taxi fleet decided to leave 37 Model 3 cars in garages.

According to the Paris newspaper “Le Figaro”, the Tesla Model 3 taxi, which the driver and his family used for a private trip, suddenly accelerated, ran into a cyclist who later died, crashed into a container and a traffic light, and finally collided with a truck. The driver tried to brake, but in vain.

The driver told Le Parisien that the brakes did not work and the vehicle was unmanageable. Instead of slowing down, the taxi accelerated. The presence of alcohol in the driver’s blood is known to be negative, so it is possible that the accelerator pedal may be stuck.

Tesla has analyzed the taxi data and, according to the initial information, could not find any technical errors. The manufacturer has stated that he is working with the Paris authorities to find out what really happened.

The G7 taxi platform, which brings together 9,000 drivers and their taxis, half of which are hybrid and electric vehicles, has announced that it has decided to withdraw 37 Model 3 vehicles as a precautionary measure and until the exact cause of the accident has been determined.
