The Slovak police reported on the social network that the driver of the van was taken to the hospital by paramedics for examination. “The highway police are investigating the exact causes and circumstances of the traffic accident that happened outside the town of Piešťany in the direction of Trnava,” the police said.
The passenger car ended up in the cargo compartment of a freezer truck.
The truck was parked in the parking lane of the highway, apparently due to a breakdown, when a van hit it from behind. Security camera footage shows that the impact was very strong. “Officers breathalyzed all three drivers with negative results,” police added.
The highway in the direction of Trnava was closed for two hours. Firefighters also had to remove the spilled meat that the van was carrying from the highway.
