After a fire in a community centre: an arson attack cannot be ruled out

Weiterstadt (dpa/lhe) – After the fire in the Weiterstadt community center (Darmstadt-Dieburg district), the police are not ruling out arson. However, the exact cause of the fire has yet to be determined, a spokeswoman for the South Hessian police headquarters in Darmstadt said on Monday. On Sunday night there was a fire in an open storage room under a stage, which went into another storage room. A party was taking place at the civic center at the time of the fire. There were no injuries. Police estimate property damage was in the six figures.
