Two men were arrested this weekend for running over, dragging and killing a 21-year-old woman outside a nightclub in the Buenos Aires town of Pacheco.
The incident occurred this Sunday near “Tropitango,” located on the East Collector of the Pan-American Highway, where the victim, Martina Soledad Schiapelli, mother of a one-year-old baby, had gone dancing with her boyfriend, her brother and a friend.
When they were three blocks away from the place, for reasons that are still unknown, “she and her partner were hit by a car and four people got out and beat them with total impunity until they were almost unconscious,” said Schiapelli’s mother.
“They started beating my sister-in-law, my brother tried to defend her and, when he tried to defend her, one of the people in the car hit him on the head with an iron bar and started kicking him on the floor,” said Macarena, the victim’s sister-in-law, who said that after the beatings, the car ran over Schiapelli again.
Everything was recorded by the witnesses’ cell phones. One of them shows how, after the collision, the vehicle continued to drive for a few meters until some motorcyclists warned the driver that the young woman was still under the wheels.
This Sunday, officers from the Tigre Sub DDI of the Buenos Aires Police arrested Roldan Axel Ezequiel and Fernando Gastón Gómez, aged 23 and 34, for the incident.
According to sources in the case who spoke to Noticias Argentinas, Gómez had reported that his car had been stolen by two criminals hours before the incident. However, the surveillance of the security cameras showed that his alibi was not true since the vehicle was in the vicinity of the dance club where he was.
Thus, after the first investigations, police officers went to Cruz del Sur 1147 in San Miguel, where they managed to arrest Gomez, who is accused of being the perpetrator of the murder. “He spontaneously said that he did not intend to kill the woman and that it was an accident,” said the sources.
Meanwhile, on Maestro Ferreyra street at 3065 in San Miguel Oeste, Roldan, Gómez’s companion and present at the event, was arrested.
Hours later, it was reported that the car that was hit by the car, a gray Fiat Palio, was found on fire at the intersection of Florencio Sánchez and Discépolo streets in San Miguel Oeste.
