The price reduction of electricity on the free market on Saturdays and Sundays below BGN 200 per megawatt hour proved to be valid for only two days. On Saturday, the levels fell to BGN 169.54 per megawatt hour, and on Sunday the collapse was even more impressive – BGN 141.48, which has not been seen for two years.
As “24 Chasa” wrote, the average price of basic electricity for last year was BGN 495.28, and for 2021 – BGN 212.60.
The traded quantities on Sunday – 81,552 megawatt hours, on the “Day Ahead” platform for Monday, February 27, returned to the level of BGN 288.62 per megawatt hour, which is a 104% increase.
The same price increase – of 104% and a price of 147.57 euros, as in our country, was also registered in Romania. In Greece, the price is even higher – 155.3 euros, the increase is 109 percent. The three Balkan countries are the first in the increase in the price of electricity as a percentage. But in terms of price, it is more expensive in France, Germany, Denmark, where a megawatt hour on Monday costs more than 150 euros. In all countries in Europe, except for Finland and in one area in Norway, where electricity costs 28.12 euros, there is an increase in prices in the range from 11 to 74 percent.
