Adventurer Matthieu Bonne took no less than 23 hours and 3 minutes to swim the entire Belgian coast. He is the very first person to succeed. He left De Panne yesterday afternoon at 4 pm and arrived in Knokke-Heist around 3 pm. “He was a little behind schedule due to the current in Ostend”, says his coach Stefaan Maene. “It was very difficult for him last night. He did not make good progress due to the current and it was completely dark in De Haan. The weather is beautiful, but sea water of 18 degrees is really cold for such a swim. He has committed himself to swimming in swimming trunks, just like the canal swimmers. ”
