“I have been looking for them for more than 30 years and, thank God, I knew they are alive..and the dream of my life is to see my children before I die”.. With these spontaneous words mixed with pain, the story could be summarized by Hajja Faiza Marjan, daughter of Buhaira governorate, separated from her children for more than 30 years: you knew everything about them until I accidentally discovered their whereabouts after a long journey of searching and suffering.
Hajja Faiza told Al-Youm Al-Sabea: “I married a Palestinian in the Aleppo region of Syria more than 30 years ago, and stayed there for more than 14 years, and gave birth to two sons, Samer and Rida, and our lives were very normal until family disputes erupted.
She added: “After a period of my marriage, I went to Egypt to see my family on a family visit, but I didn’t know how to go back again because of the travel and residence problems..and I tried more than once to I travel to them, to the point that I went to Jordan to enter Syria because of the war conditions, but I didn’t know it either”.
Hajja Faiza explained that she lost hope of her children returning to her arms again and surrendered after a fait accompli.
Supplementary action: “What should I do? I handed over my command to God and remarried in Egypt due to my difficult circumstances and gave birth to two children, but my adult children who are from my Palestinian husband, I never forget them and are always in my thoughts.
And on the details of her knowledge of her children’s whereabouts and getting to know them, Hajja Faiza said that she learned by chance through one of her neighbors that her children reside in Germany and that they emigrated from Syria with the beginning of the civil war and that they were looking for her and posted her photos on social media, which led to identification and communication with her..
And about her feelings at the moment of meeting her children after the absence of many years, she said that they are unforgettable moments to the point that she fell into a state of fainting from the intensity of her joy and disbelief at what was happening .
