After 2012 and 2017, Jean-Marie Guillaumin again candidate in the 2nd constituency of Allier

The Biachet Jean-Marie Guillaumin is again a legislative candidate for the constituency of Montluçon (Allier). This member of the environmental party Le Clover, living in Désertines, is this time the candidate of several environmental groups in addition to the Clover, which range from the MEI (the independent environmental movement), to Ecology otherwise, France ecology or the Movement for animals and the People, Animals and Nature Movement (MHAN).

He won 0.98% of the vote (507 votes) in 2012, and 1.90% of the vote (786 votes) in 2017.

He defines himself as a “pragmatic” ecologist

Former opposition municipal councilor in Désertines (2014-2020), Jean-Marie Guillaumin is also former vice-president of the UDI Allier, a formation he left in 2018. If he considers himself “still in the center right” , this employee of an ambulance company defines himself “above all as an ecologist. Because for me, ecology should not be confined to the left or to the right”.

The forty-something is particularly critical of the rallying of Europe Ecology Les Verts (EELV) to Nupes, which he compares to a “green watermelon on the outside and red on the inside”.

Measures against food waste

The candidate presents himself with the ambition to defend measures “to step up the fight against food waste, the limitation of quantitative promotions, the mandatory display of ingredients on processed products”. He also campaigns for the “revival of peri-urban market gardening”, convinced that ecology can be “a great breeding ground for jobs”.

Medical retreats and wilderness

Jean-Marie Guillaumin positions himself against the extension of the retirement age and makes access to care another of his priorities. For him, we must move towards measures to force “young doctors to settle at the end of their studies in medical deserts”.

Finally, he believes that there is an urgent need to act in favor of dependent elderly people, to “revalue the professions of help and personal service” and to better support family carers. He presents himself with Fernande Saila, former municipal councilor of Montluçon and Commentry, aged 78.
