After 2 days of precipitation, 6 districts in South Solok, West Sumatra get submerged in floods.

As many as six districts in South Solok Regency, West Sumatra (West Sumatra), were flooded. Flood hit the six districts after heavy rains flushed in the last two days.

Reported detikSumatraOn Sunday (19/3/2023), the six affected sub-districts were Koto Parik Gadang Diateh (KPGD), Pauh Duo, Sangir, Sangir Batang Hari, Sangir Jujuhan and Sungai Pagu. Sungai Pagu District is the worst affected area.

“Six out of seven sub-districts were affected, except for Sangir Balai Janggo. The worst was on the Pagu River,” said South Solok Regent Khairunas in a statement this evening.

He said that in Sungai Pagu sub-district, there were three nagari that were the worst affected, namely Nagari Pasar Muara Labuh, Koto Baru and Pulakek Koto Baru. Currently, the district government through the South Solok Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) has gone directly to check the location and evacuate residents.

“We will continue to monitor the affected areas one by one, we will also pay attention to the community,” he said.

To note, the rain lasted since early morning and lasted until morning in almost all areas of South Solok. According to information from a resident of Terandam Village, Rahmad Fauzan, water began to enter residents’ homes around 04.00-05.00 WIB and continued to rise until noon.
