After 18 months: The United States opens its borders, but only to fully vaccinated passengers

Restrictions on minor travel were imposed in March 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic

The White House announced today that restrictions on fully vaccinated passengers from abroad at US land and air borders will be lifted on November 8, Reuters reported.

Foreigners traveling by air will have to provide proof of vaccination before boarding the plane, as well as a recent negative test for Kovid-19. Foreigners traveling by land will not be required to take a negative test.

Restrictions on minor travel were imposed in March 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. Initially, from January, they referred to foreigners arriving from China, and then were distributed to travelers from dozens of other countries. It was not announced then when and why these measures could be mitigated or repealed.

Unvaccinated people remain banned from entering the United States at the land borders with Canada and Mexico. From August 9 this year Canada accepts all travelers from the United States who have completed the full vaccination cycle.
