Alba defeated Ludwigsburg Riesen in the final response game with 75:74 (21:11, 21:24, 25:19, 8:20), beating the sum of two matches by 163: 139.
The Berliners won all ten games in the final tournament and laid the groundwork for the title on Friday, when they finished 88:65 in the first game of the final.
The most valuable player of the tournament was Markies Knight, the leader of the “Riesen” match, who did not leave the field in the finals.
“Alba” for the champions was crowned nine times, the last time a gold medal in the neck of the war in 2008.
Last year, the champions were Bayern Munich, which beat the Alba team 3-0 in the final series. The Munich finalized the championship in the quarterfinals, in which they recognized the superiority of “Riesen” in the sum of two matches with 157: 160.
Ten teams, divided into five groups of two, took part in the Munich tournament. After one lap of the tournament, the top four teams in each group continued in the quarterfinals. The winners of the play-off were determined by the sum of the two games.
In developing the hygiene concept, BBL followed the football concept of quarantining all players in the hotel throughout the tournament.
