The seven-time world champion in Formula 1, Michael Schumacher, has appeared in public for the first time in 11 years, the Daily Mirror reports.
The 55-year-old German attended the wedding of his daughter Gina-Maria last week, BLITZ reported.
Initial reports did not mention whether Shumi was at the happy event. At the beginning of the year, it was reported that the wedding would be the first public event with the participation of the Chicken since the end of 2013.
In its publication, the British edition specifies that all guests at the wedding of Gina-Maria and her long-term boyfriend Ian Bethke were ordered to leave their mobile phones and all filming and recording devices with security. The aim is to avoid the leakage of information and visual material about the condition of the famous pilot.
On December 29, 2013, Michael Schumacher fell while skiing in the French winter resort of Meribel and hit his head on a rock jutting out of the snow. In the accident, the Formula 1 legend suffered serious brain injuries and underwent several operations. He was then in an induced coma for several months.
In 2014, Schumacher was relocated to the family residence in Switzerland. His family kept him out of the public eye and there was almost no information about his condition. Only close family friend Jean Todt made brief comments after his visits to the German’s home.
For several years, Michael Schumacher has been moved to a villa in Mallorca, which his wife Corina bought from the president of Real (Madrid) Florentino Perez for 27 million pounds in 2017. It was in this villa that the wedding ceremony of Gina-Maria took place.
The wedding of the Schumacher heiress may not be the only happy event in the family. There may be another wedding soon. The Chicken’s son Mick, who is a racing driver, may soon get married. His girlfriend, the Danish model Laila Hasanovic, hinted on Instagram that she had received a marriage proposal.
