The Afroman American rapperknown for its planetary tube “Because I Got High”has filed the required documents with the Federal Election Commission to run for the 2024 presidential election in the USA. Its presidential committee was named “Joseph Afroman Foreman for President“, and he is running as an independent. This announcement comes after that of Kanye West, who announced in 2020 his candidacy for the presidential and in 2022 his candidacy for the presidential election of 2024.

During a concert given in Missouri last December, Afroman had declared to the crowd his ambition to become the next POTUS (President of the United States of America in English or President of the United States of America in French editor’s note). While others focus on the 2024 election, the rapper has dubbed that election the “20-20-FRO”. According TMZthe platform ofAfroman will focus on the national legalization of marijuana, a subject close to the rapper’s heart.

Afroman wouldn’t be the first music personality to enter the presidential race. In 2020, Kanye West also announced his candidacy on Twitter, saying it was time to fulfill the promises of the United States by having faith in God, unifying the vision and building the future. He had also said that he intended to run in the 2024 presidential election towards the end of 2022.”Meet Milo [Yiannopoulos]he works on my presidential campaign“, said the rapper in a video.

Afroman’s candidacy is therefore not entirely surprising news, given the current political context in the United States, where many celebrities have expressed their ambition to become president. While it’s still early days to tell if Afroman will make it through the primaries and presidential elections, it will be interesting to see how his political platform will be received by American voters, especially on the issue of marijuana legalization. .
