African Union Suspends Activities in Niger and Condemns Military Coup

[ヨハネスブルグ 22日 ロイター] – The African Union (AU) on Friday suspended all activities in Niger following a military coup and instructed member states to avoid actions that would legitimize the country’s military dictatorship.

It also called on the AU Commission to compile a list of members of the military regime and their supporters and to impose targeted sanctions and “individual punitive measures”.

He also expressed support for the broad sanctions imposed by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

These resolutions were adopted at the council meeting held on the 14th.
