Cross-country skiing star Therese Johaug (32) talks about both the new cohabitation and the thought of children, and the grief after losing two close friends in a short time.
– I hope maybe that there will be some kids eventually, then. You’re kind of at that age, 32, and starting to count a little on your fingers here. Maybe it’s time to start soon, yes, says Johaug in Ida Fladen’s podcast “Ida with her heart in her hand”.
She believes a lot in the relationship has “fallen into place” in the last year, the newly married cohabitant Nils Jakob Hoff has completed his medical education and they have also moved together.
The 32-year-old tells in the podcast about how the transition to cohabitation with the long-term boyfriend has been, and says they enjoy everyday life together.

The cross-country star says that the secret behind their long relationship, despite distance and hectic top sports life, has been a mutual trust and understanding. The man of order Johaug believes that the biggest difference between them is the need for order in the home.
During the much talked about doping case from 2016, Hoff was her most important supporter, that he prepared her for everything that happened through the worst storm.
A couple of years later, before returning from the doping suspension that had kept her out for 18 months, she lost two good friends in a short time.
On July 29, 2018, the longtime teammate Vibeke Skofterud passed away.
The close friend Ida Eide was among those who were with Johaug at the funeral of Skofterud.
A couple of weeks later, they celebrated your 30th birthday together, feeling that it was now that life was really about to begin, as Johaug describes it.
2. september Ida Eide also passed away after a cardiac arrest.
– Then I really had to work mentally to get through it. Then I was afraid that everyone around me would pass away. Knowing that my best friend was gone was like a shock – I did not think so, says Johaug.
She recounts a huge loss that it was a brutal time.
– That was when I started asking myself “what is the meaning of life?”. It was tough mentally, so I was glad I had Nils Jakob there. But I became anxious, and was terrified that I would lose Nils Jakob and those around me, says the 32-year-old to Ida Fladen.
VG has been in contact with Johaug’s manager Jørn Ernst, who elaborates that the 32-year-old does not want to comment further.
