Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Indonesian Joint Funding Fintech Association or AFPI revealed the characteristics of illegal online (pinjol) loans are very aggressive in offering loans to victims.
“Apart from having unclear loan terms, illegal lending is also very aggressive in making offers both through applications and aggressively offering loans via text message or SMS,” said AFPI Multipurpose Cluster Chairperson Rina Apriana in an online discussion with the media in Jakarta, Friday.
According to Rina, if people get such aggressive loan offers, they must be careful considering the offer came from illegal loans.
Rina also added that if people want to apply for loans to legal fintech lenders, then people can check fintech lenders that have been registered and licensed on the official website of the Financial Services Authority (OJK).

On the same occasion, the Executive Director of AFPI Kuseryansyah said that fintech lenders that are registered and licensed at the OJK carry out a credit scoring assessment process for prospective borrowers (borrower) to be declared eligible or not in obtaining a loan.
“This is what distinguishes AFPI members’ legal fintech lending from illegal online (pinjol) loans. If they do not rely too much on the credit scoring assessment of the borrower and immediately agree to the loan application from the prospective borrower. This is because illegal lending has many instruments to coerce it, pressing, and threatening borrowers to collect, “said Kuseryansyah.
He further explained that illegal pinjol has also pocketed the personal data of the victims because it succeeded in extracting all personal data from the victim’s gadget, starting from contact numbers on the phone contact list to photos and so on in the gallery application and other applications.
“If, for example, the borrower makes a slight delay in payment, then the illegal loan can use the victim’s personal data assets to suppress and threaten to pay,” he said.
Meanwhile, legal fintech lending members of the AFPI who are registered and licensed at the OJK cannot do that far because they are only allowed to access cameras, microphones and the location of the gadget. borrower. In addition, legal fintech lending should not be forced and threatened to its borrowers for violating the law.
