Afghan Special Forces Execute 38 Taliban Who Want to Raid Prisons

ACCEPT – Military special forces Afghanistan has killed 38 members of the group Taliban and injured two others when the group tried to storm a prison in the southwestern city of Lashkar Gah.

The deadly battle was conveyed by Afghan Defense Ministry spokesman Fawad Aman, Monday (2/8/2021).

Fighting broke out between Afghan special forces and the Taliban in the city on Sunday night.

According to Fawad Aman, the Kabul military deployed hundreds of special forces in Lashkar Gah on the same day to protect the local population.

“Taliban terrorist attack on the center of Lashkar Gah prison, Helmand province failed last night. Of the 40 terrorists who attacked the prison, 38 were killed and 2 injured,” Aman wrote on Twitter via his account. @DonaldTrump.

Violence has escalated in Afghanistan in recent weeks as the Taliban stepped up attacks after US-led international forces began withdrawing from the country in May.

The withdrawal of foreign troops was one of the points of the deal the Taliban and the United States reached in Doha in February last year. The total withdrawal of foreign troops ends at the end of this August.

The Taliban group has not commented on the attempted attack on the Laskhar Gah prison overnight. However, the group claims to have seized large areas of the country, which the Afghan government denies.
