Afghan refugees have arrived in Uganda

The Ugandan government has this morning received 51 evacuees from Afghanistan who have arrived at Entebbe airport, it is stated in a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Uganda.

Afghans must stay in the country temporarily before being relocated to the United States or elsewhere, and reception is at the request of the United States.

The US Embassy in Uganda thanks the country for its hospitality and generosity.
